E-commerce traders are coming under government registration

The country's e-commerce companies have to do business only after getting registration from the government. A registration format has already been created. The Ministry of Commerce is now working on how to register online. AHM Safiquzzaman, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, told reporters at the Secretariat on Monday. He was speaking to reporters after a meeting of a committee set up to oversee and monitor e-commerce companies and determine what needs to be done to protect the rights of consumers who have been deceived by the unethical business practices of some e-commerce companies. Safiquzzaman is the chairman of the committee formed on October 12. Safiquzzaman said it was the first meeting of the committee. Another meeting will be held next week and a report will be submitted to the Cabinet Division within a month as per the deadline set in the working paper. E-commerce companies will be brought under the registration. Cabinet Division, Information and Communication Technology Division, Financial Institutions Division, Bangladesh Bank, Police, Defense Intelligence Directorate, National Security Intelligence Agency, Special Branch of Police, BFIU, NBR, National Telecommunication Monitoring Center, Police Criminal Investigation Division, Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB) delegates were present at the meeting.
